Song / Phrase Looping

Enabling this option will cause the songs to repeat once they are completed, allowing for drills of songs, or endurance practice. It also enables the Phrase looping function in Freeze Menu.

With Song Looping AND Freeze Menu enabled, you can simply hit ESC on the computer keyboard when the game or song starts, and it “freezes” the screen. In this mode, you can see a scroll bar on the right side, with a blue and red band. Scroll to the beginning of a difficult passage, set the blue “starting point.”

and then down to the end of the phrase or section you want to practice, and set the red “ending point.”

and then hit play. It will loop just on that passage. When using this with a child or myself for a difficult passage, I also add or modify the fingerings for that phrase, (By clicking on the game or note object in Freeze Mode with Fingering enabled in Visual) then slow it WAY down and try the passage again, perhaps with a bit of Note Stretching above to separate the notes. Then once I have got the right mix, after each loop I tap a couple times on the right arrow key of the computer keyboard to speed it up a couple beats, and play it again, then tap, tap, then play it again, until my tempo is my target tempo. Very quickly what was difficult and overwhelming, is now automatic, almost the difference between sounding out a long word and memorizing it.
